After a few months on the live server, the set 7 meta has settled in nicely. New synergies have appeared as well as new champions: the powerful dragons Ao Shin, Daeja, Idas, Shi Oh Yu, and Sy’fen.

This is why we’ve decided to create a new set

That’s why we’ve detailed for you 5 of the best current compositions on Teamfight Tactics. Find out when and how to play them, what items to equip on your champions, and how to place yourself to land the Top 1.

Summary

  • Aurelion Sol carry – Cosmic/Mage (Astral/Mage)
  • Anivia/Shi Oh Yu carry – Jade
  • Daeja carry – Mirage/Cavalier
  • Corki carry – Cannoner/Pyrotechnician (Cannoner/Revel)

Aurelion Sol carry – Cosmic/Mage (Astral/Mage)

After a huge buff, Aurelion Sol is once again an overpowered carry. Cosmic synergy makes it relatively easy to find, resulting in an ultra-popular composition that is already swarming the ladder.

When to play this composition

  • Good items for Nami at the beginning of the game
  • Cosmic units at the beginning of the game

How to play composition

The effectiveness of this composition relies on the power of Nami 3* in the middle game, which makes it easy to reach level 8 to find Aurelion Sol.

So your priority is to line up 3 Cosmic champions and take advantage of the synergy to build a powerful mid game set. At level 6, it is important to roll for Nami 3* so you can continue to level 8 without a hitch.

Continue your Cosmic/Mage game plan with a frontline of Fighters (Illaoi and Sylas in particular), and try to get your hands on a Mage Emblem.

At level 8, it’s time to find Aurelion Sol. Equip him with a mana generation item or a Mage Emblem and two AP items, make sure to activate his Ensorcerer synergy, and watch him obliterate the opposing team.

If you have a mana generation item, you can use it to generate mana

If you have the opportunity, keep the champions needed to switch to 9 Cosmic on the bench. Between rounds, activate 9 Cosmics for roll, and switch back to 6 Cosmics before the next fight begins.

If you can’t, you’ll have to do it yourself

If you do not have a Mage Emblem for Aurelion Sol, feel free to get rid of Vladimir and Nami. Then settle for 3 Mages and 3 Cosmics and enter powerful units like Ornn, Zoe and bard.

The Jades are still in the game, thanks to several excellent units including the Dragon Shi Oh Yu. With several potential carries and the excellent tank Neeko, this ultra-versatile composition wreaks havoc.

When to play this composition

  • Good items (and a carrier) for Shi Oh Yu
  • Good items for Anivia

How to play the composition

There are many ways to play or transition to a Jade composition. A Jade start is the most obvious, but feel free to use Mirage with Yasuo or even Metamorph with Nidalee to effectively use the equipment that will then go on Shi Oh Yu.

Your goal is to get to level 8 quickly where you can start rolling. Your goal is to quickly get Shi Oh Yu 2*, Anivia 2*, and Neeko 2*.

Once your composition is established, you have several options to further strengthen your board. If you have a lot of Anivia and good items, you can try Anivia 3*. Otherwise, go to level 9 and continue to strengthen with powerful legendary champions like Yasuo, Bard, and Soraka.

If you have the chance, feel free to play 9 Jades. This will make your champions extremely tanky while greatly increasing their attack speed.

Daeja carry – Mirage/Cavalier

After several buffs and some tweaking, Daeja turns out to be an incredible carry for the Mirage composition. While different versions of this synergy can lead to similarly different choices, the effectiveness of Daeja as a primary carry is undeniable!

When to play this composition

  • Good items for Daeja (Guinsoo, Mercury…)

How to play the composition

The easiest way to move towards a Mirage game is to rely on Yasuo at the beginning of the game. Indeed, the latter carries Daeja’s items extremely well and is particularly powerful at the beginning of the game.

In order to get through the mid game safely, you usually only need 2 Mirage and 2 Warriors to reinforce Yasuo, as well as a strong frontline. If you find Nunu quickly, go for Riders. Otherwise, Carriers with Leona will do.

Once level 8, it’s time to roll to find your final composition. Daeja 2* is obviously the priority, but it’s usually not enough to snatch the Top 1, so you need to save enough to look for Nunu 3* or Yasuo 2* to compete with the most powerful compositions in the patch.

The different variations of Mirage do not fundamentally change the composition, but rather the items to choose from. The Dawnbringer bonus, for example, makes Nunu overpowered with very tanky stuff, and allows Daeja to not carry a healing item.

In contrast, the more offensive versions of Mirage allow Daeja to deal heavy damage while carrying a healing item (Pistolame Hextech or Hand of Justice) as well as a Mercury. Just don’t go for this composition with the Pirate bonus. While generating golds will be very advantageous in the early game, you will be sorely lacking in power in the late game.
