While Apex Legends Season 14 has only just made its debut, the new map rotation has already divided players.

Apex Legends Season 14 has brought a second wind to the iconic Canyon of Kings, the very first map in the battle royale. Multiple zones have been revamped and a new environment has even made its debut, Relic.

So players will need some time to adjust before they find their feet, at least if they want to.

As soon as the veil was lifted on this Canyon of Kings 2.0 several voices were raised to protest its arrival in the ranked map rotation, or even its existence.

Outside the competitive sphere, where the card’s mere presence in the rotation is the talk of the town, for many it is more the time it is given that is the subject of debate.

A Canyon of Kings too little presence in the Apex Legends rotation? Too much? The community has a hard time deciding

Echoing the feelings of many players worried about not having enough time to familiarize themselves with the map, one user called out the developers on Reddit. “Why are we only allowed 3 days with Canyon of Kings (a map that has undergone many changes), when for Storm Zone in Season 13 we had a full week,” he asked.

In fact at the launch of Season 13, Canyon of Kings had been excluded from the map rotation in favor of End of the World and Storm Zone, both in ranked and normal games. Storm Zone was the only map available during the first week of Season 13.

Why do we only get 3 days of King’s Canyon only (a map update with man changes) and for Storm Point in season 13 we had an entire week (where they just added one POI) from apexlegends

One user replied, “Probably because everyone hated being stuck on one map for a week”. A comment that received more than 1,500 upvotes.

While most players agreed that it could be boring to bang out the same card for so long, others pointed out that it wasn’t without interest.

“Being on Storm Zone for a week was boring, true, but I got used to the map well because of it. Part of me was hoping it would be the same with Kings Canyon, said one Internet user.

Bored, another netizen argued that “if they gave you Kings Canyon for a week, everyone would complain too,”illustrating how divided the community is as the new season has only just begun.

To say the least, Apex Legends players are not on the same page about what they want from the card rotation. Whether it will be possible in a future season to effectively cut the deck in half remains to be seen.
