Modern Warfare 2: Beta dates revealed

Since the opening of pre-orders for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, players have only been eager to get into the beta. While this long-awaited beta was still surrounded by grey areas, its dates were revealed during the CDL Championship Weekend 2022.

The official presentation of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 took place on June 8, 2022, kicking off pre-orders at the same time. In the weeks that followed, Activision gradually lifted the veil on the various rewards planned for players who treat themselves to the upcoming opus before its release, but one crucial piece of information was still missing: the dates of the beta.

Thankfully, on the last day of CDL Championship Weekend, the dates for the Modern Warfare 2 beta and multiplayer presentation were revealed. As everyone expected, the Call of Duty community will be able to access Modern Warfare 2 in September, with a PlayStation-exclusive beta to kick things off, followed by a crossplay beta.

To get players’ mouths watering, in the process, the Marina Bay Grand Prix map, a 6v6 map, was revealed.

Modern Warfare 2 exclusive beta on PlayStation

The first beta weekend on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 is scheduled for Friday, September 16 through Tuesday, September 20. You can access the beta without needing the PlayStation Plus subscription service, however to take advantage of early access, you must have pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2.

• Early Access: September 16 and 17
• Open Beta: September 18 – 20

Crossplay Beta

For non-Playstation players you’ll have to wait until Thursday, September 22 to enjoy the crossplay beta, which will last until Monday, September 26.

• Xbox and PC Early Access: September 22 – 23
• Xbox and PC Open Beta: September 24 – 26
• PlayStation Open Beta: September 22 – 26

As with the Playstation beta, to take advantage of early access, you must have pre-ordered the game.

As a reminder, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is scheduled for release on October 28 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox X|S and PC.
