CoD Champs delayed due to server failure

As CoD Champs 2022 began with an exhilarating matchup between Seattle Surge and London Royal Ravens, a server failure caused the event to be delayed.

Of all days of the year, this had to happen at CoD Champs. On August 4, as the biggest event of the year was getting underway, a server failure occurred just after the first game between Seattle Surge and London Royal Ravens.

Thankfully, the first match of the day lived up to the fans’ expectations as Seattle Surge and London Royal Ravens split the win down to the final card.

And after an intense Search & Destroy on Berlin, it was the Seattle Surge players who won the match.

However, while fans were waiting for the next match, it was a long time coming as Call of Duty’s servers simply crashed.

CDL Intel has confirmed that servers for BO3, BO4, Vanguard and Warzone have all experienced problems.

This delay has raised the question of why the tournaments are being held online and not on a local network like other major esport games.

During this outage, the Call of Duty League could do nothing but fill the time with promotional videos and with pre-recorded clips, while more than 54,000 viewers sat in front of the YouTube live.

The action has finally resumed after a long delay, and we hope this will be the last delay of the weekend.
